Since 2002, The Dove House leased and renovated a pre-20th century Victorian home in downtown Statesville. Although the non-profit organization had outgrown its space, it continued to provide critically needed services for sexually abused children, living in Iredell and Alexander Counties.
The Dove House story is one of great success and admiration. Already, they have helped more than 4,300 child victims and their non-offending family members. Their specialized multi-disciplniary team has improved the prosecution rate of child sexual assault cases, in Iredell County alone, from 20% seven years ago to nearly 85% today.
Dove House’s mission is to provide a centralized, safe and child-friendly facility that supports the investigation and successful prosecution of all reported child sexual abuse cases. Their proven systematic approach has further minimizes the trauma to each child victim and their non-offending family members. Their vision essentially is for our community to work more closely together to help their cause, to help children and families in real crisis and need and to keep offending perpetrators incarcerated.
